This well-liked remake of the iconic 1956 movie about people being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates has become somewhat iconic in its own right. It echoes many of the plot beats of the original, sometimes inverting them in the process. It’s a longer movie, not as lean as the ’56 edition, but it uses the extra running time to amp up the dread and paranoia.
