This is part of the second wave of Universal monster movies, the ones released in the 1950s that leaned a little more into their sci-fi trappings. The great Jack Arnold directed this one, along with several other 50s Uni monster flicks including It Came From Outer Space, Tarantula, and, most famously, Creature From the Black Lagoon. Monster on the Campus delivers on its title — it’s about a college professor who de-evolves into a bloodthirsty caveman-type creature.
