Iconic graphic designer Saul Bass (he did the opening credits sequence for Psycho and the movie poster for The Shining) directed this film about ants that gain hyper-intelligence (thanks to a mysterious cosmic event) and proceed to take over the world. Notable for lots of killer macro photography and its quiet, creepy mood.
