People talked about this movie’s influence on Ridley Scott’s Alien for years. Then Scott made an Alien prequel, Prometheus, that was even more influenced by Planet of the Vampires. Italian genre great Mario Bava (he also made Black Sunday and Danger: Diabolik) directed this horror/sci-fi mashup, and like much of his work it’s filled with bold colors and ingenious miniature work.
